A variance is requested from Section 603.1.1 of the Zoning Ordinance to permit the conversion of a barn to a residential unit.

Mr. Pellegrini read the case and the denial letter into the record. Since the Applicant did not attend the meeting, and the posting appeared to be incorrect, Mr. Gustafson motioned to deny without prejudice Case 11-2003. Mr. Doyle seconded the motion. Passed unanimously. This case will be re-posted and will be heard at the May 13, 2003 meeting.

Mr. Doyle motioned to approve the April 8, 2003 minutes as written. Mr. Gustafson seconded the motion. Passed unanimously.

Other Business
Mr. Gustafson suggested that a letter be sent to David Sullivan, Town Administrator, asking him to clarify how the appointing of ZBA Members will work in the future and a list of when current Members' terms will end. The Chairman told Mrs. Kovolyan to send a memo to Mr. Sullivan regarding Mr. Gustafson's questions.

In honor of National Volunteer Week, April 27 through May 3, 2003, the Town of Windham provided Certificates of Appreciation and pins to the Members to thank them for giving so generously of their time to the community. The Chairman noted that a certificate for Mr. Gattinella was missing. The Chairman asked the secretary to check with Mr.Sullivan regarding Mr. Gattinella's certificate.
