Mr. Gumbel called the meeting to order at 7:10pm at the SAU building.

Review of minutes from November 11, 2001. Mr. Gross moved to accept as amended. Seconded by Ms. Crisler. Approved as amended.

After some discussion, Mr. Gumbel agreed to remain as chair until the June 2002 meeting.

Mr. DeLong presented the first pass at a network layout diagram for the town buildings. Much discussion among the members about the need for the diagram. Mr. DeLong agreed to enhance the diagram with more details for the next meeting.

Mr. Gumbel handed out a draft of the TAC submission to the Town Report. Verbal agreement to submit with minor edits.

Mr. Cappiello reported on alternatives to cable modem access to the internet. He provided handouts for various satellite and wireless options available in Windham. There are 2 satellite vendors (Starband and Pegasus] sold under various names like DirectTV and DishNetwork. Prices are in the $70 per month for speeds in the 300kpbs range.

The committee then began a description of the town website, its history, and its current problems. After much discussion about how to manage and who should manage the website, the following actions were agreed to:

• Mr. DeLong and Mr. Forde will manage the website jointly.
• HTML conversion to be described by Mr. Forde
• The goal is to post most recent BOS minutes in HTML by 1/18/02; others posted in the coming weeks.
• Mr. DeLong and Mr. Forde to develop working agreement by the next meeting

Mr. DeLong then presented information about switching our ISP for hosting the town website. After discussion, Mr. DeLong agreed to provide a plan for the switchover at our next meeting.

Mr. Borcoche presented information on rate contol switches from 2 vendors - HP and Allied Telesyn. These units are in the $500-$700 range and will do what we want between the town buildings and the library. Mr. Borcoche will provide final quotes to Mr. DeLong before the next meeting.

The next WTAC meeting will be held at the SAU Building on March 14, 2002 and will start at 7:00pm.
