Meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by Mr. Gumbel.

Mr. Bob Nelson and Mr. Butch Donahue, from Adelphia Cable, attended the meeting to talk with the committee about ILOOP plans and cable modem support in Windham.

We discussed the proposed ILOOP contract and recommended numerous changes. We then reviewed the latest ILOOP layout and map from Adelphia. Mr. Nelson and Mr. Donahue talked about the work involved in installing our fiber-optic ILOOP. They have ordered the fiber cable and are waiting for its delivery. They plan to start the installation in 3 months and will have a contractor doing the fiber cable installation.

We discussed the cable modems and ISP service being offered by Adelphia. The cable modems are hybrid - download over cable; upload over a phone line. When they upgrade Windham's cable system, then they can switch to full bi-directional cable modems in Windham. They hope to start reconstruction of the cable system within a year.

Mr. Nelson and Mr. Donahue then left the meeting.

Ms. Crisler moved to approve the minutes from March 9, 2000. Seconded by Mr. Gross. Approved unanimously.

The committee welcomed Eric DeLong, the new IT Director for the Town of Windham. We discussed his job and the many work items he has before him. We also discussed handing off work items from the tech committee members.

Ms. Crisler had no new items.

Mr. Gross reported no new problems at the library. He and Mr. Borcoche continue to provide support for the computers.

Mr. Forde reported that the Lions Club and the Windham Community Band have requested postings on the Town Web Site. Mr. Forde will contact those groups about posting their pages directly on the Town Web site.
