Technical Advisory Committee
March 9, 2000


Members: Margaret Crisler, Dick Forde, J. Gross, Dick Gumbel, Alan Winsor. Visitors: None

Meeting was called to order at 7:15pm by Mr. Gumbel.

Mr. Gross moved to approve the minutes from February 10, 2000. Seconded by Mr. Winsor. Approved 5-0.

Mr. Winsor stated that the wiring (fiber, coax, twisted-pair) between the Police Station and the new Fire Station and the Library will be started within 2 weeks. Mr. Gross will contact Adelphia about the loan of a cable cradle for this work.

Mr. Winsor also informed the committee that he had worked with the software vendor to resolve the issues with the new MUNIS computer system.

Ms. Crisler informed the committee that the BOS has approved the amended Rules & Procedures for the WTAC. We now need only 4 members for quorum and this can include the BOS representative.

Mr. Gumbel reported that the CRIS to IMC data conversion has been completed. Unless problems are reported, the vendor has completed this portion of the contract.

Mr. Gross reported on the work at the Town Library. They continue to work with the staff on identifying and resolving computer issues. The TAC discussed overall computer setup once the Library is connected to the rest of the Town network. We discussed shared internet access and resolving IP domains and addresses across buildings.

Mr. Forde reported that he received Planning Board minutes for all of 1999 and to-date for 2000. He also received the remaining 1999 and to-date 2000 minutes from the Board of Selectmen for posting on the town web site.

Ms. Crisler reported that she checked on the progress of the digitization of old town records. They have BOS and PB minutes and records completed back through 1965.

The committee then discussed the upcoming reviews for the MIS position. Mr. Forde excused himself for this discussion. Mr. Gross, Mr. Gumbel, and Mr. Borcoche will serve on the review committee with Mr. Sullivan as chair.
