SELECTMEN'S MEETING
MAY 1, 2000
MEMBERS PRESENT: Galen Stearns, Carolyn Webber, Christopher Doyle, Margaret Crisler and Roger Hohenberger. David Sullivan, Town Administrator, was also present. Meeting commenced at 7:00 pm.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: None.
LIAISON REPORTS: Margaret Crisler reported that the Easter Egg hunt was cancelled due to bad weather. However, the Easter Bunny was at the Town Hall and gave eggs to all the children.
FIRE STATION UPDATE: Chief Fruchtman reported that the new station is moving along. The cement for the sidewalks is in and will be poured this week. The loam has been spread and rough seeding has been done. The Chief hopes to start moving in two weeks.
Chief Fruchtman announced that the Department is jointly sponsoring an off road seminar with Fish and Game this weekend.
MINUTES: Mrs. Crisler motioned to accept the minutes of April 17th as presented. Ms Webber seconded. Passed unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS: Ms Webber motioned and Mr. Doyle seconded for the Board to hold one scheduled meeting in July and August. Passed unanimously.
CORRESPONDENCE: Memo received from David Sullivan, Chairman of the Highway Safety Committee, recommending that the Board approve the placement of a Stop sign at the intersection of Cole and Doiron Roads, near 1 Doiron Road. Mrs. Crisler so moved. Mr. Doyle seconded. Passed unanimously.
Letter received from the Windham Cooperative Kindergarten & Nursery requesting the non-profit rate for use of the Searles Building. The Board will seek input from the Historic Committee.
Mrs. Crisler motioned and Ms Webber seconded to release $85,140.00 from the Road Bond on Cobblestone Road. Passed unanimously.
Ms Webber motioned and Mrs. Crisler seconded to accept a road bond for Carr Hill, Coventry and Grandview Roads. Passed unanimously.
NON-PUBLIC SESSIONS: Mr. Doyle motioned and Mrs. Crisler seconded to go into non-public sessions in accordance with RSA 91-A:3, IIa and e. Roll Call Vote - all members - yes. The Board and Mr. Sullivan were in attendance at all sessions. Subjects were hiring and legal.
Mr. Doyle motioned and Ms Webber seconded to approve the hiring of a temporary firefighter, as recommended by Chief Fruchtman until a new deputy is in place. Passed unanimously.
The Board agreed not to discuss the cable coordinator position until the full Cable Board gave their recommendation.
Mr. Doyle motioned and Ms Webber seconded to grant a hardship abatement. Passed unanimously.
Mr. Doyle motioned and Mrs. Crisler motioned to authorize Mr. Sullivan to hire a joint maintenance/laborer. Passed unanimously.
Ms Webber and Mr. Doyle motioned to appoint Kim Monterio as a Museum Trustee. Passed unanimously.
Mr. Doyle motioned and Mrs. Crisler seconded to authorize Mr. Sullivan to hire a intern for the summer. Passed unanimously.
Ms Webber motioned and Mr. Doyle seconded to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at approximately 7:45 pm.
