HIGHWAY SAFETY MEETING

February 13, 2003

 

On February 3, 2003 , the Department Heads discussed the following request for highway safety improvements and made the following recommendations.

Attendance: David Sullivan, Chief Bruce Moeckel, Al Turner, Al Barlow, and Deputy Chief Don Messier. Jack McCartney was excused.

PLANNING BOARD PLANS:

Windham Meadows Phase II -  Conceptual Plans – Mammoth Road ( Lot 19-A-800/801

  • The Committee reviewed conceptual plans and made the following motion: 

  • Mr. Messier moved that the Committee support the conceptual plans as shown as proposal #3, but with the removal of the gate shown and a full connection in place therof. This alternative provides for free traffic flow as well as allows for alternative travel routes within the development which the Committee feels is crucial for proper emergency responses.

  • Mr. Turner seconded. Passed unanimously.

Spruce Pond – Conceptual Plans – Rte 28 , Londonderry Road to Hopkins Road

  • The Committee reviewed conceptual plans and made the following motion: 

  • Mr. Messier moved:

  1. That the Committee support the conceptual plans as shown as being appropriate.

  2. That the Planning Board work with the developer to provide for a future connection between Clyde Farm Road and Depot Road .

  3. And that the Committee reserves the right to provide additional comments as more detailed plans become available. 

  • Mr. Moeckel seconded. Passed unanimously.

Butterfield Estates – Lots 6-c-100, 800, 2000, 2000A, 2000B, 2500, and 2500A

  • The Committee reviewed conceptual plans and made the following motion:

  1. That the Committee support the conceptual plans as shown as being appropriate.

  2. That the Planning Board work with the developer to improve Pine Hill Road and connect it to North Lowell Road .

  • Mr. Moeckel seconded. Passed unanimously.
