HIGHWAY SAFETY MEETING
September 24, 2002
On September 24, 2002 , the Department Heads discussed the following request for highway safety improvements and made the following recommendations.
Attendance: David Sullivan, Chief Bruce Moeckel, Al Turner, Al Barlow, and Jack McCartney. Chief Fruchtman was excused.

Morrison Rd/Mitchell Rd

Request to address traffic concerns between Morrison Rd and Mitchell Pond Road , with traffic turning into Mitchell Pond not yielding to on-coming traffic

Suggestion to strip roads in the area of the intersection.

Mr. Turner moved to install Stop Sign on Mitchell Pond at the intersection of Morrison Road (within the Morrison Rd right of way) and to further install double yellow lines beginning at the Mitchell Pond intersection and extending 100’ in each direction on Morrison Rd and down Mitchell Pond Rd. Seconded by Chief Moeckel. Passed 3-1 with Mr. McCartney opposed (feeling a line on Mitchell Pond was not necessary) and Mr. Sullivan not voting.
