Windham Cable Advisory Board
Minutes of October 19, 2002

The meeting was called to order at 10:02 am by the Chairman Margaret Case. Members also present were Leo Hart, David Unger, Mary Griffin, Christopher Doyle, and J Gross. Alan Shoemaker was excused and Steve Dirksen was absent. Jim Daddona, Studio Coordinator and Barbara Coish, Recording Secretary were also present.

The minutes of 9/21/02 were accepted as written. Mary Griffin moved; Leo Hart second.

Correspondence:
Notification of the extension of the Adelphia bond until 10/21/02 was received. Work is also covered under the White Mountain Bond.
The Chairman is forwarding the list of roads being worked on daily to the members by email.
There is a bankruptcy meeting for Adelphia in the court on 10/25/02.
Correspondence from Travelers concerning White Mountain was received.

The budget for next year was discussed. The Chairman will meet with David Sullivan soon. The proposed budget will be $55800.00.

The technical committee made a report and recommended purchases.
The WCAB voted to purchase 2 DVD recorders and 4 DVD players and associated cables. Motion by Leo Hart, second by David Unger  to purchase these items the cost not exceed $3000.00.
Vote unanimous.
The WCAB voted to purchase a PC and monitor with software which would adapt to our applications. Vote unanimous with the cost not to exceed $3000.00. 
Jim Daddona with the assistance of J, David, Tom and Leo will investigate the PC which is to be purchased.

The good news is that Adelphia will begin to activate the new system on 10/28/02 and everything should be active by 11/28/02. As each node is activated that node will be switched to the new head end. There may be a point when for short time some portions of town cannot see Channels 20 and 21 until the switch is complete and the entire town is on the new headend.

The WCAB went into nonpublic session on personnel. All members voted yes in the roll call.
The WCAB came out of nonpublic and announced that the Chairman will continue with the evaluation process.

Barbara Coish mentioned that she had two service calls in the summer. The technicians Chad and Jason were both highly professional, knowledgeable and friendly. She wished to acknowledge   them for their good  work.
The meeting adjourned at 10:55am.
