Landry Sign
Mr. Cliff Miller advised the Members that he would be installing the posts for the Landry Sign on July 13th. A micro-walk is scheduled for 8:00 AM at the site. Mr. Scott Johnson will be attending and will help with the installation of the posts. A date for the ceremony will be chosen after Mr. & Mrs. Noyles return from Alaska.
Zoning Board Application 1-B-1036 (28-2001)
1 Mulberry Street
The Conservation Commission reviewed this request for a variance and opposes granting this variance because of insufficient information in the application. The plan lacks the following:
- A topographic plan would indicate existing and proposed grades.
- Mapping indicating existing soil types and extent of wetlands.
- Photographs would be helpful in considering this application.
The Conservation Commission takes its stewardship of town wetlands, as delineated by the WWPD, very seriously. In light of our mission and the insufficiencies of this application, we respectfully request that the Zoning Board of Adjustment deny or continue this application.
Case No. 5-A-1013 (29-2001)
The Conservation Commission opposes this and all requests for a variance from the WWPD regulation in order to locate swimming pools within the WWPD. Specific to this request we have several objections:
- It has not been in any way demonstrated that the pool could not be located in the extended areas of this property that are not in the WWPD.
- Proposed changes in grading associated with the landscaping proposed by the applicant have not been in any way delineated on the site plan. This landscape grading could have even greater impact than the pool and shed. There is no compelling reason to locate the shed in the WWPD.
The Conservation Commission takes its stewardship of town wetland, as delineated by the WWPD, very seriously. In light of our mission and the insufficiencies of the application, we respectfully request that the ZBA deny or continue this application.
Mr. Seniow made a motion to send Mr. Finn, as the Conservation Commission's representative, to the July 24th ZBA meeting. Mr. Capron seconded the motion. Passed unanimously.
