The committee meets the third Thursday evening of each month at the Planning and Development Department, with some additional days for field inspections. Meetings generally begin at 7:30 PM, and the public is welcomed to attend. The Committee oversees the recreational activities of the Town, including the Town Beach and all park areas. The members work closely with a number of various associations involved with sponsoring the activities, and undertake several recreational events each year. Membership on the Committee consists of seven (7) regular and four (4) alternate members appointed by the Board of Selectmen. All appointments, except those made to fill an unexpired term, are for three (3) years and expire in June.
